About
The French 75 is named after the the French 75mm Field Gun of WWI. Like all drinks from that era, its constitution has changed a bit over the years, and its origins are shrouded in mystery. Originally gin, apple brandy and grenadine, these days it is gin, lemon, sugar and sparkling wine. The drink was probably invented in Henrys Bar, Paris, after (or event during the war). Stories of the drink hitting like the blast of the famous French gun circulated, and the rest, as they say, is history.
