10ml Noilly Prat

MOP
- Chill a glass with ice and water
- Stir all the ingredients over ice until chilled
- Double strain into a chilled glass
- Garnish with 2 olives on a skewer

The vodka martini, also know of as the ‘vodkatini’ or ‘kangroo’, is a newer addition to the martini family. The rise of Vodka meant that it was only a matter of time until a vodka martini became popular. Allegedly, the first vodka martini was created in 1905 by a New Hampshire bartender made some drinks for a group Russian delegates.
Ahhh the martini. The famous name is applied to many many drinks (Difford’s Guide lists over 200! At its core, a martini is a harmonious blend of gin and vermouth, served iced cold. No one knows for sure, however the martini is believed to have evolved from the martinez (which its self evolved into the manhattan). The first written recipe for the martinez appeared in 1884, with a similar recipe appearing in 1891. Some people ave said the martini evolved from the ‘Fancy Gin Cocktail’ in Jerry Thomas’s infamous 1862 Bartenders guide. What ever the origin, the drink itself got dryer and dryer, before spawning a million off shots. Our gin martini is simple, classy and tasty AF.
