WHAT IS GRIND AT HOME?
Grind at Home is our online retail range available at grind.co.uk which was launched in 2019.

OUR POD RANGE:

Our range of seven home compostable coffee pods are compatible with your original style Nespresso® machine, or with our ‘Grind One’ Nespresso®-compatible pod machine.

Our pods are not currently compatible with the Nespresso® Vertuo machines.

Available as wholebeans or pre-ground.

WHOLE BEAN:

Great to grind at home. Suitable for both espresso and filter coffee.

Espresso machine/bean-to-cup recipe:

Standard double shot - 18g dose for a 34g yield, extracted over 25-32 seconds, depending on the age of the coffee. The greater the time after the roast date, the longer the extraction time will be.

GROUND COFFEE:

Our ground coffee is a general purpose grind ('omni-grind') which is suitable for all styles of filter coffee, (e.g. cafetiere, drip, V60, Aeropress) - but unfortunately it's not suitable for Espresso machines and the ground isn’t fine enough for use in a Moka pot!

The Roastery team recommends buying some micro scales and then using a Hario v60. 

For one cup with a Hario v60 add 16g of coffee and slowly pour over 250ml of water, stirring at intervals. For French Press, they should use the same recipe - just let the water and coffee sit together for 4 minutes before pouring!

GRIND SUBSCRIPTIONS: 

Subscribers get a regular delivery of Grind Coffee with a 10% discount and free delivery. Our refill packs (30x pods or 454g of Whole Bean or Ground coffee) are even letterbox friendly! 

Customers can access their account through our website to amend, pause or cancel their subscription, or skip their next delivery, at any time.

SUBSCRIPTION REFERRAL SCHEME:

Every subscriber has a unique referral code. If someone uses a referral code when creating a subscription they get £10 off their first order and the customer who referred them will get £10 credit towards their next subscription order to say thank you for spreading the word.

SUSTAINABILITY AT GRIND:

Our pods are made from an organic material known as 'PHA’. They are biodegradable, 100% plastic free and certified home compostable. In your home compost, Grind pods will break down faster than grass cuttings. They can also be disposed of in your food waste bin. If worst comes to worst and Grind pods do make their way into a landfill or the ocean, they will still break down in these ambient environments.

All Grind packaging is also either compostable or fully recyclable.

Grind coffee is certified organic by the Soil Association and is free from pesticides or artificial additives. On top of that, the beans are sourced directly from smallholders around the world who we pay significantly more than the rates set by Fairtrade (typically around double). This is known as ‘direct trade’ in the industry.

BEST BEFORE.

Our tins are nitrogen flushed for longer lasting freshness (up to a year) and our Nespresso pods also have a sell by date of up to a year.

The refill packs or Ground and Whole Beans and the 1kg bag of Whole Beans have a best before date of three months once they are roasted. This is because the Roastery team are particularly proud of the coffee that they roast and want the customers to enjoy the coffee at its most fresh.
